Yudi Sulistyo is an artist who graduated from the Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Yogyakarta, in 1994 (b. Yogyakarta 1972), he presents sculpture of various objects with industrial nuances such as train, war planes and vehicles, racing motorbikes, et cetera, from materials that are actually malleable and friendly, like cardboard paper. These objects are inspired by objects of his childhood memories, toys that are enlarged by multiples. With his skills in working on the material, he is able to present the qualities of realistic effects of surfaces, including the details of the objects, such as the content of the engine block, and other components. His object artworks are able to give the sense of imagination to the realm where the object should have belonged, or a kind of displaced situation. The work titled "Mengatasi Masalah Tanpa Masalah" (2018) took the form of a vehicle such as those in the Star Wars fictional universe. Sulistyo participated in several group exhibition in Indonesia and abroad, such as ARTJOG, Biennale Jogja, and Bazaar Art Jakarta. SHOUT!
